Middle age in late twentieth-century Britain
1999-2001, Middle age in late twentieth-century Britain: press representations and individual perceptions in Birmingham and the Black Country, c. 1960-1995. Funded by the Leverhulme Trust (Ref: F/630/C; £50,580). In cooperation with John Benson, University of Wolverhampton.
I had never thought I would collaborate with a historian – but it was such a good idea. The Leverhulme Trust invited John Benson to visit and suggested they would give us more money than we requested. They wanted someone more qualified. Dr Kristina Bennert (now at Oxford) did a fantastic job as the researcher.
